The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) and the visiting Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY), saw Russell's volleyball squad nip Blazer by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Russell upgrades its record to 5-5 on the year. The Red Devils travel to Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to play the Lions in a District 63 bout on Thursday, September 1. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 1-2.

The Tomcats now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Huntington for a non-league bout on Thursday, September 1. Blazer will play a Highlanders squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Spring Valley (Huntington, WV). The Highlanders record now stands at 2-3.
