Game Story

Pennsylvania High School Football - Athens trounces Northwest Area

August 30, 2024: Athens, PA 18810

In Friday's non-league match, the host Athens Wildcats football squad scored a decisive 44-6 triumph over the Northwest Area Rangers.

The Wildcats (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Canton (Canton, PA). The Warriors come into the PIAA District IV match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Canton routed South Williamsport (South Williamsport, PA), 17-8, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Rangers confront the Lake-Lehman Knights (Lehman, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 6. Northwest Area will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Knights come into the match with a 1-1 record after their 49-0 non-league loss to Shamokin Area (Coal Township, PA).
