In Friday's non-league game, the Sterling Rangers (Baytown, TX) football team overcame the visiting Goose Creek Memorial Patriots (Baytown, TX), by a tally of 42-20.

In their next game, the Rangers face the Galena Park Yellowjackets (Galena Park, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 6. Sterling will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the game with a 0-1 record after their 37-13 non-league loss to Porter (Porter, TX).
