The Mira Costa Mustangs football squad scored 35 points and limited the visiting St. Francis Golden Knights to 6 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Redondo Union for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Mira Costa will meet a Sea Hawks squad coming off a 32-8 non-league win over El Dorado (Placentia, CA). The Sea Hawks record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, St. Francis drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Golden knights host Notre Dame (SO) (Sherman Oaks, CA) to meet the Knights in a non-league test on Friday, September 6. The Knights come into the test with a record of 1-1. Notre Dame (SO) won 35-34 in their recent non-league test against Bishop Diego (Santa Barbara, CA)
