Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks (Fort Lauderdale, FL) boosters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Vanguard Knights (Ocala, FL), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Archbishop McCarthy improves its record to 6-1 on the season. The Mavericks travel to P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, FL) to encounter the Blue Wave in a non-league test on Friday, August 30. The Blue Wave go into the test with a record of 1-2. P.K. Yonge lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Buchholz (Gainesville, FL)

The Knights now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belleview for a 5A District 5 test on Tuesday, September 3. Vanguard will encounter a Rattlers squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Lake Weir (Ocala, FL). The Rattlers record now stands at 0-4.
