Illinois High School Soccer - Richmond-Burton toppled by Sterling
August 30, 2025: Richmond, IL 60071 Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Richmond-Burton Rockets (Richmond, IL), 8-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Sterling moves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Golden Warriors travel to Rock Island (Rock Island, IL) to play the Rocks in a Western Big 6 outing on Tuesday, September 2. The Rocks go into the outing with a record of 3-1. Rock Island won 5-2 in their recent non-league outing against Beecher (Beecher, IL)
Next up, the Rockets play the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes (Woodstock, IL) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, September 3. Richmond-Burton will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record.
