Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Van Alstyne Panthers (Van Alstyne, TX) and the visiting Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX), observed Van Alstyne's volleyball team top Abilene by a tally of 2-0.

The Panthers (17-6) will now prepare for their contest against Poteet (Mesquite, TX). The Pirates enter the non-league contest with a 15-9 record. In their last test, Poteet achieved victory over Heritage Christian (Rockwall, TX), 2-1, in a non-league test.
