Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Dragons now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they host Cass for a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 1. Pickens will face a Colonels squad coming off a 9-6 league win over Woodland (Cartersville, GA). The Colonels record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Union County falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Commerce (Commerce, GA) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 6. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Commerce won 9-0 in their recent league challenge against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (Winder, GA)
