The Holland Christian Maroons football team (Holland, MI), was beaten 49-35 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Wayland Wildcats (Wayland, MI)

The Wildcats (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Catholic Central (Grand Rapids, MI). The Cougars come into the Ottawa-Kent - Gold challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Catholic Central achieved victory over River Rouge (River Rouge, MI), 38-6, in a non-league challenge.

The Maroons now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Allendale for a Ottawa-Kent - Blue challenge on Friday, September 8. Holland Christian will meet a Falcons team coming off a 36-0 non-league win over Hopkins (Hopkins, MI). The Falcons record now stands at 2-0.
