In Thursday's non-league match, the host Merryville Panthers football squad scored a big 38-6 victory over the North Central Hurricanes.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Vinton Lions (Vinton, LA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 8. Merryville will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Lions enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 34-12 non-league loss to Oakdale (Oakdale, LA).
