August 31, 2023: New Lenox, IL 60451 Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Richards Bulldogs (Oak Lawn, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Celtics confront the Marian Catholic Spartans (Chicago Heights, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 2. Providence Catholic will attempt to better on its 3-0 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 8-1 non-league win over Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL).
The Bulldogs now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shepard for a South Suburban challenge on Tuesday, September 5. Richards will confront a Astros team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Romeoville (Romeoville, IL). The Astros record now stands at 4-2.
