The Asheboro Blue Comets volleyball team (Asheboro, NC), was dropped 3-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC)

The Comets (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Union Academy defeated Arborbrook Christian Academy (Matthews, NC), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Blue Comets meet the Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge, on Wednesday, September 6. Asheboro will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over East Rowan (Salisbury, NC).
