September 1, 2022: Jasper, IN 47546 In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Jasper Wildcats soccer squad scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Providence Pioneers.

Game Summary
* Jasper started the game hot by scoring in the 2nd minute of the game. Elizarraras had the assist on a through ball to Boeglin
* Providence tied the game just five minutes later after a handball in the Jasper box, leading to a penalty kick by Hesse.
* Jasper had a few good opportunities to score in the first half, with great shots from Pena, Elizarraras, and Villeda
* Score was 1-1 at the half
* Jasper came out hot again, scoring in the first minute of the second half. Elizarraras found Villeda in the box, who beat 3 defenders before tucking a ball in the bottom corner.
* Jasper had a couple of more chances in the second half, the most dangerous being a great run from Schue resulting in a shot on goal.
* Jasper's defense had to defend a few late corners, and held on for the 2-1 win.
