Florida High School Volleyball - Atlantic crushed by Matanzas
September 1, 2022: Port Orange, FL 32129 The Matanzas Pirates topped the host Atlantic Sharks volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Pirates now have a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Spruce Creek for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 6. Matanzas will confront a Hawks team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Seabreeze (Daytona Beach, FL). The Hawks record now stands at 1-1.
The Sharks (0-4) will now prepare for their test against Deltona (Deltona, FL). The Wolves enter the non-league test with a 1-3 record.
Match Summary
The Pirates came ready to play as they entered the Atlantic Sharks gym and came out with a 3-set win by scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-23. So many people played well as Frankie Good and Senna Thayer led the offense with 10 kills and 8 kills apiece. Frankie also assisted in the defense with 3 blocks, followed by Ashley Sampselle with 3 and Taylor Foley with 2. Freshman libero Rylan Miller picked up 24 digs while Sydney Moses picked up 14. The serving was led by Sydney Moses with 5 aces on 19 attempts, while Senna Thayer served 100%, as did Ravenna Reed, Rylan Miller, and Hanna Schagen. Great job Lady Pirates.
