In Thursday's non-league contest, the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Canon-McMillan Big Macs (Canonsburg, PA), by a margin of 3-0.

The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Trinity (Washington, PA). The Hillers enter the WPIAL 3A 2 challenge with a 0-0 record.
