September 1, 2023: Bakersville, NC 28705 The Alleghany Trojans football team (Sparta, NC), was beaten 22-14 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC)
The Mountaineers (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Andrews achieved victory over New Faith Christian Academy (Riverdale, GA), 56-0, in a non-league challenge.
The Trojans now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Robbinsville for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 8. Alleghany will meet a Black Knights team coming off a 28-17 non-league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 3-0.
