In Friday's non-league match, the host Grundy Center Spartans football squad scored a good 31-7 victory over the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons.

In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Pella Christian Eagles (Pella, IA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 8. Grundy Center will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 2-1 record after their 29-28 non-league win over Prairie City-Monroe (Monroe, IA).
