The West Point Green Wave football team (West Point, MS), was knocked off 39-28 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS)

The Yellowjackets (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Meridian (Meridian, MS). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Meridian knocked off Biloxi (Biloxi, MS), 42-14, in a non-league challenge.

The Green Wave now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Noxubee County for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 8. West Point will meet a Tigers team coming off a 28-16 non-league win over Columbus (Columbus, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-1.
