The Alton Redbirds topped the visiting Gillespie Miners volleyball team by a score of 2-0 in Friday's non-league test.

The Redbirds now have a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Granite City for a non-league test on Saturday, September 3. Alton will confront a Warriors team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Orchard Farm (St. Charles, MO). The Warriors record now stands at 2-1.

The Miners (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Triad (Troy, IL). The Knights enter the non-league test with a 0-2 record. In their last test, Triad was knocked off by Belleville West (Belleville, IL), 2-0, in a non-league test.
