In Saturday's non-league game, the Neptune Scarlet Fliers (Neptune, NJ) football team knocked off the host Lakewood Piners (Lakewood, NJ), by a final score of 26-6.

The Scarlet Fliers (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Pinelands Regional (Tuckerton, NJ). The Wildcats come into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Pinelands Regional toppled Point Pleasant Beach (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ), 41-13, in a non-league game.

The Piners now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Keyport/Hudson Regional for a Shore - Patriot game on Saturday, September 9. Lakewood will battle a Raiders team coming off a 35-28 non-league loss to Freehold Boro (Freehold, NJ). The Raiders record now stands at 1-1.
