The Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) football routed the host Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS), 53-20 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Tornadoes face the Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 10. Purvis will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Pirates enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 30-20 non-league win over Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS).

The Gators (0-2) will now prepare for their bout against Philadelphia (Philadelphia, MS). The Tornadoes enter the non-league bout with a 1-1 record.
