Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) and the visiting Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), observed Appomattox County's volleyball team top Amherst County by a tally of 3-0.

The Raiders (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Buckingham was beaten by Altavista (Altavista, VA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Lancers meet the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 5. Amherst County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
