In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Leyden Eagles.

The Cougars (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Mundelein (Mundelein, IL). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record.

Next, the Eagles meet the Willowbrook Warriors (Villa Park, IL) in a West Suburban- Gold challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Leyden will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record.
