The Veterans Memorial Patriots football team (San Antonio, TX), was tipped 42-35 in Saturday's non-league challenge with the host Taft Raiders (San Antonio, TX)

The Raiders (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Holmes (San Antonio, TX). The Huskies come into the 6A Region IV District 29 challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Holmes nipped San Marcos (San Marcos, TX), 35-34, in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Medina Valley for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 10. Veterans Memorial will meet a Panthers team coming off a 24-14 non-league loss to Jay (San Antonio, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 0-2.
