Brenham Cubs (Brenham, TX) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team smash the host Sterling Raiders (Houston, TX), 49-8 in a non-league match.

The Cubs (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Bryan (Bryan, TX). The Vikings come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Bryan was routed by Huntsville (Huntsville, TX), 58-0, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Raiders meet the Sharpstown Apollos (Houston, TX) in a 5A-1 Region III District 10 battle, on Thursday, September 11. Sterling will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
