Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the host Rocky River Ravens (Mint Hill, NC), saw Independence's soccer squad triumph over Rocky River by a count of 6-0.

The Patriots (3-3) will now prepare for their battle against West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). The Lions enter the Meck Power Six 7A/8A battle with a 2-4 record. In their last battle, West Charlotte was overwhelmed by Monroe (Monroe, NC), 3-1, in a non-league match.

The Ravens now sport a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they host Providence for a Southwestern 7A/8A match on Tuesday, September 9. Rocky River will meet a Panthers team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 5-2.
