In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Ridgefield Park Scarlets volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Bergenfield Bears.

The Scarlets (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Memorial (West New York, NJ). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Memorial edged St. Dominic Academy (Jersey City, NJ), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bears play the Leonia Lions (Leonia, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 6. Bergenfield will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Rutherford (Rutherford, NJ).
