In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host James Kenan Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Lakewood Leopards.

The Tigers (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC). The Bulldogs go into the Swine Valley 2A/3A test with a 10-1 record. In their last test, Wallace-Rose Hill gained a win over Spring Creek (Seven Springs, NC), 3-0, in a league test.

The Leopards now sport a 1-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Columbus for a Carolina 1A/2A test on Tuesday, September 9. Lakewood will play a Gators team coming off a 3-0 league win over Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Gators record now stands at 6-1.
