In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Lexington Golden Bears volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Tharptown Wildcats.

The Golden Bears (9-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Tanner (Tanner, AL). The Rattlers come into the 2A Area 15 test with a 1-1 record.

The Wildcats now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belgreen for a 2A Area 14 test on Tuesday, September 9.
