In Thursday's non-league game, the host Martins Ferry Purple Riders volleyball squad scored a 3-0 win over the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights.

Next up, the Purple Riders face the Cambridge Bobcats (Cambridge, OH) in a non-league game, on Monday, September 8. Martins Ferry will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Bobcats come into the outing with a 5-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville, OH).
