September 5, 2023: Nixon, TX 78140 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Shiner Comanches (Shiner, TX) and the host Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX), saw Shiner's volleyball squad beat Nixon-Smiley by a tally of 3-0.
With the win, Shiner upgrades its record to 19-7 on the year. The Comanches travel to Stockdale (Stockdale, TX) to play the Brahmas in a non-league bout on Friday, September 8. The Brahmas go into the bout with a record of 16-9. Stockdale won 3-2 in their recent non-league bout against Randolph (Universal City, TX)
The Mustangs now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they travel to Marion for a 3A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, September 8. Nixon-Smiley will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to New Braunfels Christian Academy (New Braunfels, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-9.
