September 5, 2024: East Providence, RI 02914 The Smithfield Sentinels soccer squad scored 3 points and held the host East Providence Townies to 2 in the Sentinels non-league victory on Thursday.
The Sentinels now hold a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Coventry for a Division 2 bout on Monday, September 9. Smithfield will play a Oakers squad coming off a 3-2 league win over North Providence (North Providence, RI). The Oakers record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, East Providence moves to 1-1 on the year. The Townies host Tolman (Pawtucket, RI) to play the Tigers in a Division 1 bout on Saturday, September 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Tolman lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI)
