With the triumph, Newkirk improves its record to 10-7 on the year. The Tigers travel to Alva (Alva, OK) to play the Goldbugs in a non-league game on Monday, September 9. The Goldbugs enter the game with a record of 13-6. Alva won 4-2 in their recent non-league game against Blackwell (Blackwell, OK)
