Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting University Christian Barracudas (Hickory, NC), 3-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Alexander Central improves its record to 4-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to face the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, September 11. The Huskies go into the test with a record of 9-1.

The Barracudas now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hickory Christian Academy for a NCISAA Foothills Athletic contest on Monday, September 9. University Christian will battle a Knights team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Westminster Catawba Christian (Rock Hill, SC). The Knights record now stands at 5-3.
