The Christ the King Cathedral Golden Lions football squad scored 60 points and limited the visiting Amherst Bulldogs to 12 in the Golden Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Golden Lions now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy for a non-league test on Friday, September 12. Christ the King Cathedral will play a Eagles team coming off a 51-6 non-league loss to Grandfalls-Royalty (Grandfalls, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 0-2.

The Bulldogs (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Leakey (Leakey, TX). The Eagles go into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Leakey was ripped by Cherokee (Cherokee, TX), 80-30, in a non-league challenge.
