September 5, 2025: Galena, IL 61036 The Galena Pirates football squad scored 34 points and held the visiting Benton/Scales Mound IL/Shullsburg to 14 in the Pirates non-league victory on Friday.
In their next game, the Pirates face the Pearl City-Eastland Wildcats (Pearl City, IL) in a Northwest Upstate Illini challenge, on Friday, September 12. Galena will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 22-0 league win over Morrison (Morrison, IL).
The (0-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Fennimore (Fennimore, WI). The Golden Eagles come into the Southwest Wisconsin Activities outing with a 3-0 record. In their last outing, Fennimore topped Southwestern (Hazel Green, WI), 41-14, in a league outing.
