St. James Academy Thunder (Lenexa, KS) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Bishop Miege Stags (Shawnee Mission, KS), 24-0 in a league battle.

With the win, St. James Academy advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Thunder travel to Saint Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, KS) to play the Saints in a Eastern Kansas battle on Friday, September 12. The Saints come into the match with a record of 1-0. Saint Thomas Aquinas won 21-0 in their recent non-league match against Blue Valley West (Stilwell, KS)

Coming up next, the Stags confront the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves (Overland Park, KS) in a Eastern Kansas match, on Friday, September 12. Bishop Miege will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Timberwolves come into the match with a 0-1 record after their 28-21 league loss to Blue Valley (Stilwell, KS).
