The Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA) football were winner over the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), 36-26 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Bruins face the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 12. Blacksburg will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Buffaloes enter the game with a 1-0 record after their 31-26 non-league win over Narrows (Narrows, VA).
