Illinois High School Football - DeKalb thwarts Phillips
September 5, 2025: DeKalb, IL 60115 DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Phillips Wildcats (Chicago, IL), 26-8 in a non-league battle.
With the win, DeKalb advances its record to 1-1 on the season. The Barbs host Kaneland (Maple Park, IL) to play the Knights in a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. The Knights go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Kaneland won 42-37 in their recent non-league battle against Lemont (Lemont, IL)
The Wildcats now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Johnson for a Chicago Public - Metro battle on Friday, September 12. Phillips will confront a Pumas squad coming off a 56-0 non-league loss to Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL). The Pumas record now stands at 0-2.
