September 5, 2025: Weirton, WV 26062 John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV), 42-12 in a league match.
The Monarchs (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Bellaire (Bellaire, OH). The Big Reds come into the non-league match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Bellaire was beaten by Barnesville (Barnesville, OH), 40-0, in a non-league match.
Coming up next, the Red Riders confront the Indian Creek Redskins (Wintersville, OH) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 12. Weir will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Redskins go into the battle with a 3-0 record after their 23-15 league win over Union Local (Belmont, OH).
