The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the River Islands Riptide (Lathrop, CA) and the visiting Modesto Christian Crusaders (Modesto, CA), witnessed River Islands's football squad knock off Modesto Christian by a tally of 30-14.

The Riptide (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Big Valley Christian (Modesto, CA). The Lions enter the Mother Lode League contest with a 0-2 record.

The Crusaders now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Millennium for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 13. Modesto Christian will encounter a Falcons team coming off a 35-0 non-league loss to Waterford (Waterford, CA). The Falcons record now stands at 0-2.
