In Friday's league match, the host Southside Panthers football squad scored a close 22-15 triumph over the Thomasville Tigers.

The Panthers now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dallas County for a 3A Region 3 test on Friday, September 12. Southside will meet a Hornets squad coming off a 14-6 league loss to Greensboro (Greensboro, AL). The Hornets record now stands at 0-3.

With the defeat, Thomasville drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Sumter Central (York, AL) to face the Jaguars in a 3A Region 3 challenge on Friday, September 12. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Sumter Central lost 46-12 in their recent league challenge against Thorsby (Thorsby, AL)
