September 5, 2025: Wilmington, NC 28405 Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC), saw Laney's soccer squad knock off Dixon by a count of 5-3.
The Buccaneers (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC). The Bulldogs come into the non-league match with a 2-2 record. In their last match, Wallace-Rose Hill nipped Clinton (Clinton, NC), 2-1, in a non-league match.
The Bulldogs now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to White Oak for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 9. Dixon will meet a Vikings team coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Richlands (Richlands, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 3-2.
