New York High School Volleyball - Hamilton can't hold off Peekskill
September 5, 2025: Peekskill, NY 10566 In Friday's non-league match, the Peekskill Red Devils (Peekskill, NY) volleyball squad tipped the visiting Hamilton Raiders (Elmsford, NY), by a count of 3-2.
Next up, the Red Devils battle the Port Chester Rams (Port Chester, NY) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, September 10. Peekskill will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record.
The Raiders (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against North Salem (North Salem, NY). The Tigers enter the Section 1 Conference 3 - D contest with a 3-0 record.
Match Summary
Peekskill got off to a slow start, losing the first two matches in lackluster fashion. Peekskill then started building momentum, leading to wins in the third and fourth set, staying in the lead throughout. The final set was precarious, as Alexander Hamilton took a significant 5-1 lead before the first time out. Peekskill then clawed back, tying the score of 10–10. What happened next was a point for point battle to the finish line, coming down to the team that wanted it the most! Charly Greenaway and Lisette Pesantez went on perfect service runs to take us to the finish, and Outside HItter Khylee Cappozelli caught fire at the end to finish off the match with consecutive kills!!
