In Friday's non-league match, the host South Allegheny Gladiators football squad scored a good 37-13 triumph over the Carlynton Cougars.

The Gladiators (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA). The Chargers come into the WPIAL AA Allegheny match with a 1-2 record. In their last match, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart went down by Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA), 18-7, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Cougars meet the Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 13. Carlynton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Vikings come into the match with a 0-3 record after their 28-21 non-league loss to Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, PA).
