In Friday's non-league game, the Wylie Bulldogs (Abilene, TX) football team edged the visiting Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX), by a tally of 29-28.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) in a non-league test, on Thursday, September 12. Wylie will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Mustangs come into the test with a 1-1 record after their 45-17 non-league loss to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX).
