September 6, 2024: Newport, WA 99156 The Newport Grizzlies football squad scored 34 points and limited the visiting Riverside Rams to 18 in the Grizzlies non-league triumph on Friday.
The Grizzlies now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Priest River for a non-league test on Friday, September 13. Newport will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 36-8 league loss to Grangeville (Grangeville, ID). The Spartans record now stands at 0-1.
With the defeat, Riverside drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rams host East Valley (Spokane, WA) to meet the Knights in a non-league test on Friday, September 13. The Knights come into the test with a record of 0-1. East Valley lost 44-7 in their recent non-league test against Freeman (Rockford, WA)
