New York High School Football - Canisius defeats Scranton Prep

September 6, 2025: Buffalo, NY 14209

The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Canisius Crusaders (Buffalo, NY) and the visiting Scranton Prep Cavaliers (Scranton, PA), saw Canisius's football team gain a win over Scranton Prep by a final score of 41-28.

With the win, Canisius advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Crusaders travel to Ironton (Ironton, OH) to encounter the Fighting Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 13. The Fighting Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Ironton won 29-7 in their recent non-league bout against Archbishop McNicholas (Cincinnati, OH)

The Cavaliers now hold a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Delaware Valley for a Lackawanna 1 match on Friday, September 12. Scranton Prep will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 46-21 non-league loss to Central York (York, PA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-3.
