California High School Flag Football - Merced tops Rancho Cucamonga

September 6, 2025: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701

The Merced Bears flag football squad scored 44 points and limited the host Rancho Cucamonga Cougars to 20 in the Bears non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Bears now sport a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Madera South for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. Merced will meet a Stallions squad coming off a 24-0 non-league loss to Pacheco (Los Banos, CA). The Stallions record now stands at 0-7.

With the defeat, Rancho Cucamonga drops to 4-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to South Hills (West Covina, CA) to face the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 6. The Huskies go into the challenge with a record of 7-3. South Hills won 13-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
