In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Grants Pirates volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Aztec Tigers.

The Pirates (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM). The Broncos come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 9. Aztec will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Skyhawks go into the test with a 1-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Dulce (Dulce, NM).
